Making An Impact
With Billy James
Welcome to “Making An Impact” review for TNA Impact Wrestling. I’m Simply Sensational Billy James with the fallout from Impact Wrestling. Last week, Samoa Joe made his return to Impact Wrestling as Joe came to the ring saving Bully Ray and Eric Young from the beat down from MVP, Kenny King and Bobby Lashley. What will Joe have to say to the fans tonight and what will be MVP’s response to Joe’s return? Dixie Carter last week tried to confront MVP about his recent before being interrupted by Bully Ray. Will Dixie confront MVP this week and what will be Dixie’s move to regain complete control of TNA? After losing her tag team against the Beautiful People, Brittany confronted Madison Rayne about not wanting to be her tag team partner and that she wants to be with Madison to Madison’s shock. How will this affect Madison as she invokes her rematch clause facing Angelina Love tonight for the TNA Knockouts title? Will Brittany make an appearance during Madison’s match tonight? Also tonight Bram takes on Willow in a one on one match. So let’s get started by asking yourself this one question? “Are you ready to feel the Impact?”
Willow defeats Bram via disqualification
Eddie Edwards pins Davey Richards
Samoa Joe vs. Austin Aries ends in No Contest
Angelina Love pins Madison Rayne to retain the TNA Knockouts title
Bully Ray, Austin Aries, Samoa Joe & Eric Young beat MVP, Kenny King, Bobby Lashley & EC3 in a 8 Man Tag Team First Blood match
Carnies Give Me Nightmare And I’m Not Talking About The One With The Hot Ass
The only thing that I can say about the Menagerie\Bro Man segment is “What The F@ck!” They had Robbie acting a like a 5 year old crying saying that he’s afraid of “Clowns” which was totally unbelievable. TNA could have had Robbie just he doesn’t like clowns but with a more serious look on his face. While at first I was for the Menagerie gimmick it’s getting old. All Crazy Steve is come into the ring and just bounce off the ropes. Knux and the Freak “Rob Terry” haven’t wrestled which they both can wrestler. I will say that Rebel is hot and her ring entrance is sexy but that’s not enough to make the Menagerie interesting. The Menagerie need to start actually having matches that are serious and now. I hate that Robbie, Jessie and Ion are being used in these types of segments because they all three are very good wrestlers and should be used better. I doubt we’ll be seeing Robbie for a while as he and his girlfriend (Brooke Tessmacher) are completing in the current season of the Amazing Race that’s being filmed right now.
I Said I Wanted To See A ROH Match! Oh Shit! I Forgot We Work For TNA
Normally I would list Davey Richards vs. Eddie Edwards in either “OK Impact” or “High Impact” but this match was boring and the fans were not really into it as they were silence through most of the match. MVP setup the match between the two TNA Tag Team Champions with the stipulation that if they did actually wrestle each other then he would strip them of the TNA Tag Team titles. Normally I would like chain wrestling but they the same moves on each other which I found to be boring because I like chain wrestling that is fast pace. I will say that the match did improve some when both men started going for submission moves like Edwards locking in a surfboard submission on Richards while later in the match Richards locked in a cross armbreaker on Edwards who reserves it into the Achilles Lock. The match ends when after trading waist locks, Edwards victory rolls Richards up for the win. Kenny King comes into the ring who was watching the match for MVP saying that finish was weak and they are going to keep wrestling or loose the TNA Tag Team titles. The Wolves respond by hitting the Alarm Clock on King to the cheers of the crowd. I don’t have a problem seeing Richards and Edwards wrestling each other, I just want to see them actually wrestler each other full force.
And This Is For Coming Up With This Stupid “Willow” Gimmick Jeff
After losing to Willow last week and Bram attacking Willow with a crowbar, Magnus setup a match between Willow and Bram for tonight. Bram starts off in control of the match whipping Willow hard into the ring corner sending Willow to the mat. Willow is able to reverse things around hitting several drop kicks on Bram in the ring corner. The match quickly ends up on the outside of the ring with Bram tossing Willow into the steel steps. Bram tosses Willow back into the ring and get the steel crowbar from under the ring planning on using it on Willow. However Magnus takes away the crowbar and then shocks everyone by using the crowbar on Willow beating the living shit out of Willow. I guess with this angle that TNA is going to put Bram and Magnus as a tag team instead of having them feud against each other. I have no with this as TNA needs more tag teams in the Tag Team division.
Does It Look Like We’re Half Ass Working This Match!?!?!
I thought that Austin Aries vs. Samoa Joe was a much better match then Richards vs. Edwards because Aries and Joe went full force at each other. The match started off with Aries going after Joe with a few hits followed by a hard kick that sends Joe into the ring corner. However Joe catches Aries in the ring corner locking in the Muscle Buster but Aries reverses it into a rollup before the two men trade punches. Joe again tries for the Muscle Buster but Aries elbows his way out of it. Aries then goes for a corner clothesline, but Joe counters with an Uranage attempt which Aries reserves by armdraging Joe and locking in the Last Chancery on Joe. Eric Young comes down to the ring and pulls referee Brian Hebner out of the ring before Joe can tap out. Hebner slides back into the ring after arguing with Young to starting Joe’s type to make Aries tap out to the Coquina Clutch but Young pulls Hebner out of the ring again arguing with Hebner to do the right thing. Bully Ray then comes out telling Hebner that he’s sorry and knocks Hebner out ending the match as a No Contest which doesn’t make MVP happy one bit. Bully eggs on MVP, Kenny King and Bobby Lashley to get EC3 to face himself, Aries Joe and Young in a 8 Man Tag Team Frist Blood match which King accepts to MVP’s dismay. I have no problem with this finish because it was the only way to end the match without both men losing their job in TNA which we all know either one is leaving TNA.
What The Hell You Mean That I Don’t Work For Mel Brooks?!?!?!
Mr. Anderson came out to the ring tonight to “The Cowboy” James Storm’s old entrance music dressed in a ridiculous cowboy outfit carrying a six of beer with him. I have to say that I did laugh when Anderson made fun of Storm’s catchphrase when Anderson to Christy Hemme’s face “Sorry about my damn breath!” Storm comes down to the ring and makes it clear that he’s find any of this funny and that he’s going to make Anderson for making a fool out of him of him two weeks ago. Storm however makes it clear that it won’t be tonight which Anderson replied he going to fight tonight and starts trade punches with Storm who is able to slam Anderson to the mat and then hits the Last Call knocking Anderson out. Storm then stands over Anderson telling him that he face Anderson at Slammiversary. I have to say that this segment was good because Storm like a total bad ass the whole. This should be a good match at Slammiversary.
I Did What You Told Me To Do. Just Stand There And Look Like A Sexy Bitch!
Early in the show, Brittany apologizes to Madison Rayne for upsetting her last week and tells Madison she’s there for her tonight as Madison gets her rematch against Angelina Love for the TNA Knockouts title if she needs her. Madison makes it very clear saying she wants Brittany to do nothing tonight and walks away from Brittany who has a look on her face like she just got her heart broken. The match starts off with Madison in control of the match taking Angelina for a quick cover before they roll out to the ring where Angelina gains control of the match as Angelina works on Madison as Brittany comes to ringside. Madison makes a comeback sending Angelina back into the ring and then yelled at Brittany to leave. Angelina takes advantage of the distraction hitting Madison with a hard knee and then a front slam but Madison is able rollup Angelina pin attempt when Angelina is taunting Brittany. Madison goes on nailing Angelina with several clothslines and then the Scissor Stomp. However the referee doesn’t see Velvet Sky spray Madison in the eyes with hairspray which allows Angelina to roll Madison up for the win and retains the Knockout title. Later on Madison confronts Brittany for just standing there letting Velvet spray her in the eyes with the hairspray which Brittany says that she did exactly what she wanted her to do; nothing. I believing we’ll be seeing these two fighting real soon.
That’s It Joe! Fart On Him!
The 8 Man Tag Team First Blood match was the best match of the night as the match starts off with Austin Aries right off the bat locking the Last Chancery on Kenny King. There are quick tags between the two teams until MVP and Bully go at it until MVP takes Bully down with quick knee strikes to the ribs and then tags in King who gets nails by Samoa Joe. The quick tags continue until Bobby Lashley takes down Eric Young with a hard backdrop. MVP, King, Lashley and EC3 continue with the quick tags working on Young until Young gets the hot tag to Joe who comes in hitting a powerslam on EC3. Then we get a spot feast as each man comes in the ring hitting their signature moves leaving Bully Ray in the ring with EC3 with Bully busting EC3 open with the steel chain wrapped around his wrist causing EC3 to bleed giving Bully, Aries, Joe and Young the win. While Bully, Aries, Joe and Young are celebrating in the ring, we see in the back MVP, King and Lashley beating the shit out of EC3 until Dixie Carter comes to EC3’s aid telling them to leave her nephew alone and that MVP now has a war on his hands.
Show Rating: 4 stars
I have to say that again this week’s was weak as only three of the five matches had a real finish and one of those matches was boring. I just don’t what TNA is doing with their booking as the X Division is hardly focus on and the Tag Team division is for all purposes is dead. The only saving grace is the Knockouts division who still have better storylines then the WWE Divas but not like it was 5 years ago. I will have to say that I’m glad to see Aries and Joe being used as they are two of the best wrestlers in TNA and both deserve to be TNA World Heavyweight Champion. I am interested to see where TNA is going to go with the Brittany\Madison Rayne angle as its lesbian angle is copy of the storyline that was recently done in Ohio Valley Wrestling. I guess TNA is going to turn EC3 “Face” along with Dixie as they had MVP and his crew beat the shit out of EC3. I have no problem with TNA turning EC3 “Face” but I just wish that TNA would get rid of Dixie as a TV character. TNA really needs to take a step back, pull their heads out of their asses and take a long hard at the current direction because TNA is dying and they need a super miracle to turn things around or there won’t a TNA by April of next year.
Stars of the Night: Austin Aries, Samoa Joe, Bully Ray & Eric Young.
