Making An Impact
With Billy James
Welcome to “Making An Impact” review for TNA Impact Wrestling. I’m Simply Sensational Billy James with the fallout from Impact Wrestling. Tonight Dixie Carter makes her return to Impact Wrestling since loosing operational control of TNA. What will Dixie have to say and who will Dixie direct her wrath at? The Wolves finally get their rematch as they face the Bro Mans for the TNA Tag Team titles. Will the Wolves regain the titles or will the Bro Mans find a way to escape tonight still the TNA Tag Team Champions? Last week, Magnus successfully defended the TNA World Heavyweight title in a Fatal Four Way against Samoa Joe, Eric Young and Abyss. MVP announced that tonight there will be a 10 man gauntlet match to determine who will face Magnus for the TNA title at Sacrifice. Who will be able to outlast the other 9 man and go on to Sacrifice to face Magnus? Also tonight is a Knockout Fatal Four way as Angelina Love, ODB, Gail Kim and Brittany to see who will be new Number #1 Contender for the TNA Knockouts title. So let’s get started by asking yourself this one question? “Are you ready to feel the Impact?”
Eric Young eliminates Abyss to win a 10 Man Over The Top Rope Gauntlet to be the Number #1 Contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Champions
Angelina Love pins Gail Kim in a Knockouts Fatal Four Way match to become the Number #1 Contender for the TNA Knockouts title
The Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) defeats The Bro Mans (Jessie & Xema Ion) in a TNA Tag Team title match however The Bro Mans retain The TNA Tag Team titles
Eric Young pins Magnus to become the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion
Hot Chicks Can Make Guy Do Some Crazy Shit!
Christy Hemme came out calling for Samuel Shaw to come to the ring talking about commitment the first thought that I had was that Christy was going to turn “Heel” (if that’s even possible for a ring announcer) However it was a setup by Christy and Mr. Anderson who has a one way trip to the funny farm for Shaw. I just don’t get what the whole of this segment was. It didn’t setup any closure to the Shaw\Anderson feud or any true advancement either. I think the time used for this segment could have been used for something else like more time for a match. That’s all I have say about this segment expect that Christy Hemme looked smoking hot.
I Built This Company Damn IT! Despite Jeff Jarrett Creating It!
Tonight we saw the return of Dixie Carter who after having words with MVP confronts Bully Ray about betraying her at Lockdown costing her operational control of TNA. Dixie demands to know why he double crossed her at Lockdown which Bully answer that TNA is not her company but the fans. Dixie quickly makes it clear to Bully that it’s her company and that she’s the boss. Dixie slaps Bully who then is attacked from behind by Bobby Roode. Roode gets a table to put Bully through it but Bully escapes almost putting Roode through the table. Dixie did okay with this segment far as her lines and her interaction was okay I expect to see a match between Roode and Bully Ray at Sacrifice with Dixie in Roode’s corner.
Sorry Boys But Not Tonight
The Wolves got their title shot for the TNA Tag Team titles against the Bro Mans despite another attempt by the Bro Mans to put off the match claiming the Robbie E is not there because of travel issues. MVP makes the call that the match will still happen but with Xema Ion taking Robbie E’s place in defending the titles. The Wolves have control for most of the match with some good spots like Edwards hitting a double Hurricanrana on both Ion and Jessie. There was also a nice double suicide dive by the Wolves onto Jessie and Ion on the outside of the ring. The problem that I had with the match was the disqualification at the end of the match was with the way that it was done. I think that it would have been better to have either Jessie or Ion to hit one of the Wolves with one of the belts or some other object instead of Robbie coming down to cause the disqualification. In my mind it makes the Bro Man look weak when they really are not.
Wow Crazy People Can Actually Fly!
The 10 Man Gauntlet match was a perfect was to start off Impact Wrestling and it was one hell of a match. I’ll list the actual entrances and eliminations at the end of this week’s review but I have to say that I was impressed with everyone in this match. I thought EC3 and Bobby Lashley were both very good in this match especially Lashley since it’s been a while that we have seen Lashley in a ring on TV. I like how after Abyss enter the match that Abyss went after everyone in the ring except EC3 as the match is supposed to be every man for themselves. I think that a lot of people were surprised that Samoa Joe wasn’t in the match but it has been reported that Joe suffered a concussion as a TNA house show two weeks ago. I have to say that I was surprised that Eric Young won the 10 Man Gauntlet match because you had Willow (Jeff Hardy), Bully Ray, Booby Roode, Gunner and “The Cowboy” James Storm that could have won the match. The only thing I have a complaint about is the fact that the Greatest That Ever Lived; Austin Aries wasn’t in this match. Aries should have been in this match as he is one of the top guys in TNA. Still is was a great match and if you missed it then you need get on YouTube and watch it.
Gali Turn Around Because It’s Time For You Botox Injection
The Knockouts Fatal Four Way match to determine the Number #1 Contender for Madison Rayne’s TNA Knockouts title was great as all four women worked hard in this match. I was really impressed with Brittany as I said that I wanted to see more out of her and this week Brittany didn’t disappoint as she showed some great moves like a nice a Handspring Back Elbow on Gail in the ring corner and a Handspring Moonsault off the ropes onto ODB. ODB, my good buddy John Mayer’s Knockout had some good spots during this match hitting the fall away slam on Gail and a Carpet Muncher in the ring corner on Angelina. I have to say that I like the end of the match were it was Gail that Velvet sprayed the hairspray in Gail’s eyes that allowed Angelina to hit the Botox Injection on Gail to win the match and becomes the new Number #1 Contender for the Knockouts title which I said that Angelina would most likely face Madison for the Knockouts title.
Dream Do Come True Eric Young
After winning the 10 Man Gauntlet match, Eric Young called out MVP asking for his title shot against Magnus for the TNA World Heavyweight title tonight which MVP agrees to. Magnus takes control early in the match going after Young’s injured arm and hitting Young with European Uppercuts. Young gets in some offense in with a nice dropkick on to Magnus. Young keeps fighting trying for a top rope moonsault but misses as Magnus rolls out of the way. Magnus keeps working on Young locking in the Camel Clutch but Young fights through by lifting Magnus up hitting an Electric Chair Drop on Magnus. Magnus is able to regain control of the match by hitting a low blow on Young then goes for backdrop but Young reverses into a piledriver shocking everyone ringside by pinning Magnus becoming the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion. I have to say that I was totally shock that TNA decided to have Young ended Magnus’s title reign but Young deserves it.
Show Rating: 8 stars
I have to say that this week’s show was much better than last week’s show for sure at we have three great matches and we saw a new TNA Champion. I think that it’s great that TNA is giving Young chance at a TNA title run as Young is a great talent and is really over with the fans. With the TNA World Heavyweight title, Young becomes the Seventh Triple Crown Champion and the Fourth Grand Slam Champion in TNA history. Angelina Love is now the Number #1 Contender and now will face Madison Rayne at Sacrifice for the TNA Knockouts title which I wouldn’t be surprised if Angelina walks out as the TNA Knockouts title. The wolves got screwed out of the TNA Tag Team titles tonight but because they won the match by disquaification I expect to see the Wolves get another title shot against the Bro Mans most likely at Sacrifice. The Dixie Carter segment was bearable and actually helped further the feud between Bobby Roode and Bully Ray. It be interesting to see if next week’s show is just as good as Willow takes on EC3 and Rockstar Spud in a handicap match.
