With Riley Ross
Welcome back to Riley’s Corner where I break down each segment and match on SmackDown. Tonight we will see the continued fallout from RAW and more buildup towards a stellar PPV at Night of Champions. Also what will Triple H and Randy Orton have in store for the beleaguered Daniel Bryan? Will the little man finally get a victory or will his losing streak continue? On SmackDown tonight we have Michael Cole and Donkey Face JBL on commentary. A recap of Cody Rhodes being fired opens up the show. He will be back so don’t worry. Even in the recaps it was still the best match on RAW.
Triple H, Vickie Guerrero, and Brad Maddox are in the ring to have a town hall meeting with the wrestlers about what went down Monday night. The Shield are ringside guarding the three inside the ring. I am having a hard time with his speech as last year didn’t he say no one was bigger than the WWE? Now he’s saying that he is the WWE. He goes on to say that Cody Rhodes fired Cody Rhodes. He says that yes he has to make hard decisions and when you make them you become the bad guy. He says he will continue to do what is best for business.
The superstars are reluctant to say anything but Triple H encourages them to speak their mind. Sandow speaks first and congratulates Trips for firing Cody Rhodes. Trips responds by saying he doesn’t want them to kiss his ass but to speak their mind. Kofi goes to the mic and says the locker room is in fear of their jobs and that isn’t best for business. Trips gives a spin by saying he doesn’t understand. Here comes Heath Slater to run his ignorant mouth about the Big Show. Asskissing inbred Jed, he needs to not speak. Trips insults him and here comes RVD to get on the microphone. He goes on to say the vibe isn’t cool and he calls Triple H dude. Triple H mocks him for being RVD. Ryback says he is sick and tired of being called a bully. He gives Ryback another shot at Dolph Ziggler. He mentions the absence of Daniel Bryan and says that Daniel Bryan’s problem is his ego. Trips makes a match between Daniel Bryan and one member of the Shield. He makes a match between Kofi Kingston and Curtis Axel, RVD gets a match with Randy Orton.
Randy Orton vs. RVD—Del Rio has joined them on commentary. The match between Orton and RVD starts off with RVD kicking Orton. He takes him down and jumps on him from the top rope. He goes for a quick pin but Orton kicks out. He goes to the top rope and drops a kick on Orton. He goes for another pin but Orton kicks out. He does the Rolling Thunder move but Orton counters with a powerslam. Orton stomps away at RVD’s leg. RVD makes a comeback and goes for another pin but once again Orton kicks out. Orton delivers a series of knees to RVD before moving on to a series of striking punches. He uses the ropes to his advantage. Orton goes to the outside and RVD follows him. Orton slams him into the barricade and RVD drops Orton on the barricade. He goes for a kick off the apron but Orton wisely moved out of the way. Orton throws him in the ring and starts stomping away at him. He does his signature pose, Orton I love you but face the camera next time you silly goose. RVD starts punching way at him but Orton stops him with a dropkick. He throws RVD out of the ring and we go to commercial. Back from commercial and Orton is in charge of the match. He has RVD in a side headlock and RVD fights out. He takes Orton down with a kick and a standing moonsault. He goes for a pin but Orton kicks out. Orton dodges a move from RVD and kicks him in the leg. Orton goes for the pin but RVD kicks out. Orton does a neckbreaker and pulls him up by his hair. He goes for the DDT from the second rope and it connects. He goes for the RKO but RVD kicks him. He goes for the pin but Orton kicks out. He does his Rolling Thunder and goes to the top rope. He goes for the Five Star Frog Splash but Orton moves out of the way. He goes to the outside of the ring and Orton follows. Orton rolls him in the ring and Del Rio takes out Ricardo Rodriguez. RVD goes over the top rope to take out Del Rio. Orton flings RVD into the announcer’s booth and does a DDT from the apron to the floor. He throws RVD into the ring and nails him with an RKO. Winner as if there was a chance for his opponent: Randy Orton
Alberto Del Rio gets in the ring and attacks RVD. He puts him in the Cross Arm Breaker. Come on Del Rio, be a star and not a bully. Haha who am I kidding, embrace the darkside.
Renee Young interviews Daniel Bryan. He says that he was told by management not to go out there as he wasn’t invited. He says he doesn’t have an ego but a desire to be a WWE champion. He says the Shield can pick who faces him as it will not be a fair fight anyways.
AJ walks up to Layla, Alicia Fox and Aksana. At first they try to be mean but Layla encourages them to give the Divas champion a chance to talk. AJ tells them that she would rather face them then the Total Divas stars. She gives them a rousing speech that stirs up a hornets nest.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Ryback—They go back and forth for a few before Ziggler sends him flying thru the ropes. Ryback takes down Blondie before kicking him. He scoops him up and drops him before splashing him. He goes for a pin but Ziggler kicks out. Dean Ambrose joins JBL and Michael Cole on commentary and oh lawd commentary is now relevant again (SQUEE)! Ryback bear hugs Ziggler and goes for a modified pin Ziggler kicks out. Ambrose is saying that Ziggler is a duck and he needs to fall into line. Ryback goes shoulder first into the steel post and Ziggler mounts an offense. He does a neckbreaker and goes for a pin but Ryshrek kicks out. Ziggler takes him down with a fameasser and goes for a pin but Ryback kicks out. Ziggler goes flying out of the ring and Ambrose taunts him which causes Ziggler to try and attack him. Ambrose dodges him and Ziggler chases him but gets a clothesline for his troubles. Ryback throws him in the ring and Shell Shocks Ziggler. Winner: Ryback.
Ambrose can cut a promo, wrestle, and do commentary he is the future of the WWE. Agree or disagree with me I don’t care as I speak the truth. Although it’s a truth that might be a little hard for you to accept but once again I don’t care. Also on a side note, I am okay being the odd woman out, I will never go along with someone just to appease their ego or tell them want they want to hear. That’s not how Riley rolls.
Kofi Kingston vs. Curtis Axel—Axel is accompanied to the ring by Paul Heyman. The match starts off with a lockup and Kofi taking down Curtis Axel. Axel reverses it and they counter this back and forth. No offense to Kofi but this is the worst match ever. Axel puts Kofi in a side headlock and Kofi powers out. Axel gets taken down with a flying elbow by Kofi. He goes outside the ring to confer with Heyman. He goes back into the ring and locks up with Kofi. Kofi takes him down and keeps him off balance with a dropkick. He goes to the outside and after a moment or two Kofi joins him. Kofi uses the steel steps to take down Axel with a clothesline. Heyman distracts Kofi and Axel knocks Kofi off of the apron. Back from commercial and Kofi is holding his own. Axel goes for a pin but Kofi kicks out. Axel goes to the top rope and goes to launch himself at Kofi but Kofi kicks him. Kofi takes him down again and Axel dropkicks him. He goes for the pin but Kofi kicks out. Kofi goes to the top rope and Axel pushes him down. Kofi nails him with the S.O.S. Winner: Kofi Kingston
While Axel has a temper tantrum like a toddler, Heyman has that realization that CM Punk will get his hands on him at NOC. He drops the title and gulps like he is starved for oxygen.
A promo from the Wyatt family is shown. Same promo from Monday that is still creepy as hell to watch but entertaining. Kudos to the Bray Wyatt, Rowan, and Harper for forming a creepy faction in the WWE.
Heyman is shown on the phone and he is panicking when Renee Young comes up to him. She asks if he is concerned and he is about to blow his bald top. He says that they overlooked the threat that Kofi presented because he was distracted by CM Punk. Heyman redirects his hostility to Renee Young and he declares that his hostility is better than Punks. Heyman has a temper tantrum.
Brie Bella vs. Naomi—Brie kicks her and does a weak ass dropkick to Naomi. She goes for a pin but Naomi kicks out. OMG can they leave the DIVAS wrestling to the real Divas? Naomi dropkicks her and takes her down with a clothesline. She goes for a pin but the Bella Twit kicks out. They both go crashing to the floor and here comes AJ, Aksana, Alicia Fox and Layla to attack the other divas.
The Usos vs. The Real Americans—someone needs to remind Cesaro and Swagger that flags are meant to be displayed properly and not worn as capes. So if you two want to cosplay do it on your own time. Cesaro dominates the Uso at the start of the match. Swagger goes to the outside and takes him down. He throws Uso back in the ring and has him locked in the corner where Cesaro hits him when the referee isn’t looking. They double team Uso and keep him from tagging in his brother. They Real Americans take them down in an action packed match. Winner and still horrible: The Real Americans
Big Show is shown pacing back and forth. At least he isn’t crying like a little bitch. Triple H comes in and encourages him to take his anger out on 3MB. He encourages him to knock the shit out of 3MB as if they were human stressballs.
Big Show vs. 3MB—the jobber squad doesn’t stand a chance. Heath goes first and gets taken down. Same for Drew and Jinder Mahal. He makes them regret opening their mouths as he chops them all down. He brutally spears McIntyre before kneeing him in the face. Big Show double chokeslams Jinder and Drew. He turns his attention to Heath and pulls him up by his hair. He knocks him the fuck out. Winner: Big Show
The Shield come down to announce who will take on Daniel Bryan. Triple H encourages Big Show to head on to the back.
Seth Rollins vs. Daniel Bryan—Roman Reigns stares down Daniel Bryan and Seth Rollins attacks him from behind. Seth stomps away at Daniel Bryan. Daniel Bryan gains the upper hand and tosses Seth out of the ring. He tosses him back in the ring and Seth throws him over the rope. Dean and Roman taunt Daniel Bryan and when Dean Ambrose smiles I honestly forget how to type coherent sentences. When he smiles I hear angels singing and I forget why I hate most of the IWC. Seth goes to the outside and works on Daniel Bryan. When the referee isn’t looking Roman Reigns attacks Daniel Bryan. Seth goes to the top rope and flies down on Daniel Bryan. Daniel Bryan locks him the Yes Lock. He has to battle the other members of the Shield. He dropkicks Seth. Winner: Daniel Bryan
While DB is gloating, Randy Orton nails him from behind. That’s what happens when you focus too much on what is before you, you don’t see the monster sneaking up on you.
Match of the Night—goes to Ryback and Ziggler. I really enjoyed Dean Ambrose on commentary. Sorry but not really that is what I am going with it.
The WTF moment goes to the Kofi Kingston/Curtis Axel match. It was lackluster and blah as hell. I don’t blame Kofi for this but I blame Curtis Axel because he sucks.
In closing I thought the show was decent. Nice buildup for the Night of Champions PPV that is coming up soon. I give it a grade of an A+. Please for the love of the wrestling business let this happen each and every week. By the way to the people who say Ambrose has done nothing for the title what the hell are you doing? That’s what I thought Ambrose has made the title relevant again so sit down and shut the fuck up. Please let go of your expectations and enjoy the show. Trust me it makes watching tolerable and more enjoyable. Have a good night and a better tomorrow!
