With Riley Ross

Welcome back to Ring of Riley where I break down each segment and match of Ring of Honor. At the end of the review, I will talk about Riley’s Rewind which is the match that I cannot stop watching and Riley’s Regret which is the most cringe worthy moment of the hour long show. Also I will be awarding a top honor to a wrestler or wrestlers that stole the show; this honor is called Star of the Night. On tonight’s showing we have this match on the lineup: BJ Whitmer and the American Wolves take on Michael Elgin, Kevin Steen, and Tommaso Ciampa in the main event. Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuiness are on commentary tonight.

Opening up the show is a recap of Michael Bennett attacking Cheeseburger and Brutal Bob as Maria looks on. Bennett also goes on to declare that the Prodigy is dead.

Michael Bennett vs. Brutal Bob Evans—Bennett is accompanied by the First Lady of Wrestling, Maria Kanellis. The match starts off with Bennett superkicking Brutal Bob before the bell even rings. Brutal Bob slides off the apron and Bennett launches himself off the apron at his former mentor. He sends Bob flying into the barricade before kicking him again. He flings him into another barricade and kicks him again. Maria joins Nigel and Kevin on commentary as Brutal Bob and Michael Bennett fight outside the ring. Bennett goes for a suplex but Bob counters and knocks Bennett down. He sends Bennett flying into the barricade but Bob gets the boot from Bennett. Both men are in the ring and Bob splashes Bennett. He sends Bennett flying over the ropes but he stays on the apron. Somehow Bob gets hung up in the ropes and Bennett delivers a sweet dropkick from the outside of the ring. He takes Bob down when he gets in the ring. He delivers another superkick and goes for another move but Bob slams him down and follows it up with a shoulder tackle. He goes for a pin but Bennett kicks out. Brutal Bob goes to the top rope and goes for a leg drop but Bennett moves out of the way. He drops Brutal Bob and scores the win. Winner: Michael Bennett

Maria has his contract in hand as she gets in the ring with him. He signs the contract and tries to shove it in Brutal Bob’s mouth. Here comes Cheeseburger to Brutal Bob’s defense but he gets flattened with a sick piledriver. Nigel scolds Maria and Bennett for their actions.

Bonesaw Brook vs. MsChif—Maria is back on commentary with Kevin Kelly. This is Bonesaw Brook’s debut in Ring of Honor. The match starts off with a code of honor. MsChif punches her and is delivering series of knees to her opponent’s midsection. She sends Bonesaw Brook into the steel ring post shoulder first and then ties her up in the corner before the referee forces her to break the hold. She starts throwing forearms to Brook. She drags her to the middle of the ring and goes for the pin but Brook kicks out. Holy shit MsChif has her tied up in a submission move, Bonesaw Brook makes it to the ropes and grabs ahold for dear life. Bonesaw Brook does a beautiful suplex on MsChif and leads into a bridge pin but MsChif kicks out. She goes for another pin but MsChif kicks out. Brook launches herself at MsChif but MsChif counters and puts her on the ropes before delivering a head-butt. She hits a modified pedigree off of the ropes. Winner: MsChif

Ciampa/Elgin/Steen vs. BJ Whitmer/American Wolves—the match starts off with the code of honor. Richards was hilarious as he stole a hug from Kevin Steen. Tommaso Ciampa squares off with BJ Whitmer. Ciampa sends Whitmer flying into the ropes but Whitmer takes him down with a shoulder block. He takes him down with an arm move and Whitmer tags in Eddie Edwards and Ciampa tags in Kevin Steen. They go for a lockup and Steen puts Edwards in the corner before the ref breaks it up. They go for another lockup and Edwards puts Steen in the corner. He chops Steen who is overselling it but in a good way. Steen tags in Elgin. Elgin and Edwards face off and Edwards cannot budge Michael Elgin. Even his brutal chops cannot phase Elgin. Elgin is moving Edwards though; Elgin grabs Davey Richards in a delayed vertical suplex. This is fucking amazing. He finally drops in and goes for the pin but BJ Whitmer comes in and interrupts. Ciampa puts him in a delayed vertical suplex. Edwards runs in and Steen grabs him but Edwards suplexes him. Elgin grabs Richards and punches him. He sends him flying into the corner and goes to launch himself at him but Richards moves. Here comes Edwards who suplexes Elgin and he goes for the pin but Elgin kicks out. Edwards gets kicked in the head by Elgin. He puts Edwards on the apron and goes to the top rope. Here comes Richards to help his tag partner. Edwards goes for the pin but Elgin kicks out. Elgin scoops up both Richards and Edwards and slams them backwards.  Here come Whitmer and Steen to fight it out. Steen powerbombs Whitmer and goes for the pin but Whitmer kicks out. Steen goes to the top rope and goes for a splash but meets Whitmer’s knees. Here comes Davey Richards. Richards goes for the pin but Steen kicks out. Back from commercial and Ciampa and Richards are fighting it out. Richards has him in the corner and is kicking the evil out of Ciampa. Richards tags in Eddie Edwards. He chops Ciampa and is continuing the brutal chops on the chest. Ciampa kicks him and goes to the top rope but Edwards kicks him. Edwards gets him in the Half Crab and here comes Elgin to break it up. Richards comes in and puts Elgin in the ankle lock. Whitmer puts Steen in a submission move. Steen reverses it and puts him in the Scorpion Deathlock. Whitmer and Elgin clothesline each other repeatedly until they fall out of the ring. There goes Richards and Steen leaving Edwards and Ciampa in the ring to duke it out. Edwards chops him again and Ciampa slaps him. They trade slaps and Edwards kicks him. Holy fucking hell that clothesline from Ciampa was AMAZING. BJ Whitmer and Ciampa are the legal men in the match and Whitmer is chopping away at Ciampa. Ciampa returns the favor. Whitmer suplexes him and goes into a bridge pin but Ciampa kicks out. Richards and Edwards keep the other two men out of the ring and Whitmer goes for another pin but Ciampa kicks out.  Richards does a move to keep Ciampa down but the pin gets interrupted by Elgin. Richards is now facing off with Ciampa and is striking him with his legs. Ciampa gets to his feet and takes it until he grabs the leg and starts delivering a series of knees to Richards’ face. He goes for the Kryptonite Krunch. He goes for the pin but Richards kicks out. They deliver their signature moves to Richards and chaos ensues as all the men get in the ring. Ciampa goes for a suplex but they block each other and somehow they both go over the top rope. Elgin tags himself in and faces off with Richards. Elgin slaps him and goes for a powerbomb but Edwards interrupts him. He grabs Edwards and powerbombs him over the top rope and sends him flying into the other four men. They trade blows and neither men are going anywhere. Elgin runs the ropes but Richards kicks him in the head and goes for a German suplex but Elgin rolls thru. Elgin does the buckle bomb. Richards kicks him and Elgin powerbombs him. Winners: Elgin, Steen, and Ciampa.

Riley’s Rewind—this honor goes to the main event. This match was full of action and all six men showed their passion for wrestling. Seriously this is the match to watch on this week’s episode.

Riley’s Regret—there is nothing I regret about this episode. All the wrestlers busted their asses to put on an amazing show.

Star of the Night—this goes to Michael Elgin, Kevin Steen, Tommaso Ciampa, BJ Whitmer, American Wolves for putting on an amazingly spectacular main event. This match was so fucking good that it made me cry. They not only put their bodies on the line but they showed heart and passion for the sport. You don’t see that in the bigger companies. They had a good time with this match and they wanted you the fans to know that.

In closing, I want to take the time to thank Ring of Honor for all that they do for the fans. I know I have bitched at you guys but tonight’s episode erased all the hurt and anger I had for you. Most importantly you made me love wrestling again. Please go to a two hour show, one hour isn’t enough. . Make sure you all check out http://www.blogtalkradio.com/live-nation-radio-network.  We’ll be airing Tuesday at 10pm ET Call in at (347) 945-6363. Have a good night and a better tomorrow!
