Making An Impact
With Billy James
Welcome to “Making An Impact” review for TNA Impact Wrestling. I’m Simply Sensational Billy James with the fallout from Impact Wrestling. It’s the second part of Impact Wrestling taped from Las VegasNV. Last Chris Sabin was able to regain the TNA X Division title when he defeated Austin Aries in a Triple Threat for the X Division title. The Main Event Mafia revealed last week Magnus as its newest member. Who will join the Main Even Mafia? Bound for Glory Series continues as Joker’s Wild stipulations are in place for tonight’s matches. Who will leave in the lead in the Bound for Glory Series? Also tonight Taryn Terrell takes on Gail Kim in a Ladder match to determine who gets the title shot against current TNA Knockouts Champion; Mickie James. So let’s get started by asking yourself this one question? “Are you ready to feel the Impact?”
AJ Styles & Samoa Joe beat Jeff Hardy & Joseph Park in a Bound for Glory Series Joker’s Wild match
Magnus & Mr. Anderson defeats Hernandez & Jay Bradley in a Bound for Glory Series Joker’s Wild match
Kazarian & Bobby Roode beat Austin Aries & Christopher Daniels in a Bound for Glory Series Joker’s Wild match
Gail Kim defeats Taryn Terrell in a Ladder match to become the Number #1 Contender for the TNA Knockouts title
Magnus pins Bobby Roode & scores 25 points in 6 Man Bound for Glory Series Gauntlet match
We Don’t Need An Asshole To Tells That This Segment Is Full of Shit
Seriously the whole Vice President of “Aces & Eights” is getting boring and is really pointless in my opinion. TNA wasted entire segment on “Aces & Eights” voting for a VP which was Mr. Anderson. I guess TNA is planning for Doc to break away from “Aces & Eights” by having distrust between Anderson & Doc. The biggest problem with this segment was the fact that half of the members of “Aces & Eights” haven’t even wrestled in months. I think that “Aces & Eights” have lost their steam and TNA needs to end the group at Bound for Glory.
Main Event Disappointment
Ok let me get this straight, Sting reforms the Main Event Mafia bringing in Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and last week, Magnus. This week the newest member is revealed to be “Rampage” Jackson. Are you F@ucking kidding me TNA? The new Main Event Mafia was off to a good start when Samoa Joe joined the group and better with Magnus joining. But now TNA blows all that good work by adding “Rampage” Jackson to the group which makes no sense what so ever. Why have Jackson join the Main Event Mafia when he isn’t even going to wrestle? Far as I’m concern, TNA really F@ucked up putting Jackson in the Main Event Mafia.
This Is Why I Work Alone!
The Joker’s Wild stipulation for tonight’s Bound for Glory matches was a great idea but the pair ups we got caused some of the matches to be average. I’m talking about the first two matches because they were average for two different reasons. The Styles & Joe vs. Hardy & Park was average because was because when Park was in the ring, the action was boring which bad concerning that Styles and Joe were the opponents. The action was good when Hardy was in the ring but Park made the match average. I have said this on many occasions that TNA needs to get rid of the Joseph Park character and stick with Abyss. I’m that Hardy and Park didn’t win the match as I really didn’t want to see Joseph Park in the 6 Man Bound for Glory Series Gauntlet match.
That’s For Sucking In The Ring!
Can somebody explain to me why the hell Jay Bradley is even in the Bound for Glory Series? I’m not impressed with Bradley and he didn’t do anything this match that would change my opinion. Also you Magnus doing all the work in the match because his partner; Mr. Anderson refused to tag into the match. Again the action was good when Hernandez in the ring for his team but when Bradley was in, the match was just average. I understand that the point of Magnus working the match by himself because he’s a part of the Main Event Mafia and Anderson is part of “Aces & Eights” but it would have been better if their opponents had been say Aries and Daniels for example.
It’ll Hurt Only For A Minute!
The four best guys in TNA in one match was great as you had Austin Aries and Christopher Daniels on one side and Kazarian and Bobby Roode on the other. Aries and Kaz locked up first with switches until Daniels tag himself in and Kaz tags in Roode. At one point Aries and Roode went at it and they kept countering each other’s move. As the match progress the action really picked with Aries rolling through Kaz’s attempt at Fade to Black in a pin attempt. Kaz came back and hits wicked DDT after Aries hits a hard drop kick on Roode. The match ended when Daniels tag himself in only for Kaz to roll through Daniels pin attempt to get the win for his team. This is a match you that you’ll want to watch.
WWE Divas Have Nothing On Us!
The Knockouts Ladder match has been hyped for weeks and it lived up to all the hype. This match has me marking out right at the beginning of the match. Early on Taryn hit an impressive spear on Gail through the ropes onto the ramp way. Gail was vicious during this match using the ladder as she locked in a figure four on Taryn with Taryn’s legs wrapped in the ladder. Taryn tried one point during the match for a Bulldog off the ladder only for Gail to block it. Taryn used the ladder on Gail ramming the ladder into Gail’s midsection in the ring corner. Before this match began, the TNA Knockouts Champion; Mickie James came down to ringside to watch and actually didn’t interfere in the match. The match ended in a unique way went Taryn had Gail in a modified Dragon Sleeper in the ropes, Gail tied Taryn’s hair in the ropes which gave Gail the time to retrieve the contact and Gail is now the Number #1 Contender to the Knockouts title. This was the best match of the night and the best women’s match of the week.
I Really Need Those 25 Points Damn It!
The Gauntlet match was very good as the match started off with Styles and Magnus which starts out slow until Kaz comes out and then Joe when things really start to pick up as Styles eliminates Kaz from the match by clotheslining Kaz over the top rope. Styles was the next to be eliminated when Anderson tosses Styles over the ropes. It comes down to Roode and Magnus after Joe eliminates himself and Anderson. The match comes to moves and counter moves with Roode hitting the spine buster on Magnus while Magnus locks in the Texas Clover Left on Roode with Roode reaching the ropes to break the hold. The match ends with Roode going for a roll up pin with Magnus reversing into the pin for the win and Magnus scores the 25 points in the Bound for Glory Series.
Hell Sabin, I Want My Title Shot!
The big question tonight was if Chris Sabin was going vacate the TNA X Division title for a title shot against Bully Ray for the TNA World Heavyweight title on next week’s special Impact Wrestling; Destination X. I like the confrontation between Sabin and Bully Ray as Sabin remind everyone of his history with Bully Ray referencing their tag team matches when Sabin was a part of the Motor City Machine Guns and Bully Ray was a part of Team 3D. I really liked how Sabin talk about how he’s beaten Bully Ray in the past. Specifically in the final match of Team 3D’s career as a tag team and how he’s the only to kick out after being 3D. The crowd was really behind Sabin and was cheering Sabin as he handed the X Division title to Hogan making the TNA title match next week official.
Show Rating: 6 ¼
This week’s Impact Wrestling was good but not as good as last week’s show. The first two matches were ok but nothing to get excited about. Aries & Daniels vs. Roode & Kazarian was interest as these four men of the four best in TNA today. Taryn and Gail stole the show tonight in the Knockouts ladder match. Taryn and Gail showed what women wrestlers can do when they are given a chance to show what they can do. I was surprised that Gail won the match as I figured that TNA would have went with Taryn vs. Mickie since Mickie has turned “Heel.” Never the less, Gail vs. Mickie will be one hell of a match. Magnus really has been getting a huge push as Magnus won the Gauntlet match and the 25 points in the Bound for Glory Series. This gives Magnus a huge in the Series nearly double of what has who is in second place. The big disappointment of the night has to be “Rampage” Jackson revealed as the newest member of the Main Event Mafia. Why TNA went this route when Jackson has stated in recent interviews that he’s not going to be wrestling anything soon. Hopefully next will be great as its Destination X where its Chris Sabin vs. Bully Ray for the TNA title and return of some old X Division Superstars plus much more.
