Making An Impact
With Billy James
Welcome to “Making An Impact” review for TNA Impact Wrestling. I’m Simply Sensational Billy James with the fallout from Impact Wrestling. It’s the TV taping of Impact Wrestling from Atlanta, GA as tonight; Sting speaks about his future from his lost at Slammiversary. What will Sting have to say to the fans in Atlanta? After his debut in Impact Wrestling was interrupted by Kurt Angle last week, what will “Rampage” Jackson have to say about his “Face Off” with Angle? What will Hulk Hogan have to say after trying to blindside Bully Ray last week with a hammer only to be stopped by his daughter; Brooke Hogan. After being blown off by the new TNA Knockouts Champion; Mickie James last week about a rematch for the Knockouts title, will Velvet get her rematch against Mickie? The Bound for Glory Series lineup will be decided as the final qualifying matches are tonight as we have four matches including Austin Aries vs. Eric Young, “The Cowboy” James Storm & Gunner vs. Bad Influence (Christopher Daniels & Kazarian), Matt Morgan vs. Magnus vs. Rob Terry vs. Kenny King and a rematch from Slammiversary; Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles. So let’s get started by asking yourself this one question? “Are you ready to feel the Impact?”
Bad Influence (Christopher Daniels & Kazarian) defeat “The Cowboy” James Storm, & Gunner in a Bound for Glory Series Qualifier match
Joseph Park pins Crimson in a Bound for Glory Series Qualifier match
Magnus beats Matt Morgan, Rob Terry & Kenny King in a Bound for Glory Series Triple Threat Qualifier match
Austin Aries pins Eric Young in a Bound for Glory Series Qualifier match
Mr. Anderson defends Doc, Devon, Wes Brisco, Garrett Bischoff & Knux in a Bound for Glory Series Battle Royal Qualifier match
AJ Styles pins Kurt Angle in a Bound for Glory Series Qualifier match
What The F@CK!?! Jospeh Park Is In The Bound for Glory Series
Well, I like for someone to tell me what drugs the creative writers in TNA are taking so that I can avoid them because whatever they’re taking, it isn’t working. How can TNA creative think that putting Joseph Park into the Bound for Glory Series is a good idea? So not only is Joseph Park in the Bound for Glory Series but Park pinned Crimson. Ok Crimson has been gone for almost entire year and TNA brings Crimson back to “Job” to Joseph Park, Unbelievable! I know that Crimson isn’t the best on the mic but his ring skill are good for a big power guy and Crimson is a Hell of lot better then Joseph Park. Ok enough bitching about Joseph Park, just skip this match because it’s not worth your time.
I Know That It’s Bullshit! But That’s What’s In The Script
Ok, so we had a Battle Royal with the members of “Aces & Eights” to determine who will represent “Aces & Eights” in the Bound for Glory Series. This was the biggest waste almost worst then the Joseph Park vs. Crimson match which you know has to be bad. I think it would have been better if more people had been involved in the match besides just the members of “Aces & Eights.” I seriously doubt that Mr. Anderson is going to win the Bound for Glory Series but I wish that Anderson had really earned a spot in the Bound for Glory Series as Anderson is a very good wrestling. This entire match was really bad booking on TNA’s part.
Normally I be bitching about Hulk Hogan right now but Hogan actually used right this week putting over the reason why Jeff Hardy and Bobby Roode automatically in the Bound for Glory was because they were past winners of the Bound for Glory Series which was a great explanation. I thought that the interaction between Roode and Hardy was great with Hogan only chiming when it was important. With next week being “Open Fight Night,” I can’t wait to see these two wrestle each other in a one on one match.
Some Time it’s Good To Be Bad!
Bad Influence were on top of their game tonight and I love all of the action in the match as Storm and Gunner were awesome in the match. Gunner did what he does best with power moves keeping both Daniels and Kazarian rocking. Daniels and Kazarian were great keeping Gunner in their corner like a great “Heel” team. I like how Storm had the match in hand taking both Daniels and Kazarian with Knee Breaker before being hit with one the Tag Team belts by Daniels while Kazarian had the referee distracted which allowed Kazarian to pin Storm and earning himself and Daniels both spots in the Bound for Glory Series.
This Is Way You Don’t F@CK With “Crazy Chicks”!
Fans have been waiting for this moment for 7 years and finally tonight, Mickie James went to the Dark Side. Velvet came out to the ring to call out Mickie to inform Mickie that she’s medically cleared and wants her rematch against Mickie for the TNA Knockouts title. Mickie tries blowing off Velvet but then got that crazy look in her eyes and then hit Velvet in the left knee and locked in a modified STF on Velvet which Velvet screaming in pain. I love the new Mickie as it’s like seeing an old girlfriend that you been thinking about. Plus the fact that Mickie locked that modified STF on Velvet while wearing a dress and heels just makes Mickie even hotter. I can’t wait to see what the “Bad Girl” Mickie has in store.
I Told You Guys That I’m The One That’s Bound For Glory!
I thought it was interesting that TNA put three big guys and one X Division guy in a Four Way to determine who goes on the Bound for Glory Series. Magnus was really over with the Atlanta crowd as they were chanting his name throughout the match. The match really picked up toward the end of the match as each man was hitting their finisher and I thought for a brief moment that Matt Morgan was going to actually win but in the end, Magnus hit the sit down power bomb on King to get the win and is now in the Bound for Glory Series. While I seriously doubt that Magnus is going to win the Bound for Glory Series, I do think that Magnus is going to have a damn good run in the Bound for Glory Series.
Bischoff & Hogan! You’re Not The Only Ones Who Can Use An Old Idea!!!
Sting let fans know that what really pissed him off about his lost at Slammiversary was the fact that no one came to help him with all the members of “Aces & Eights” interfering in the match. Sting told the fans in Atlanta that “Aces & Eights” are like a family and that he was going to form his own family; the new Main Event Mafia which got a big reaction from the crowd. So if this is the route TNA is going to go with Sting then I hope that they will use the great talent they already have on the roster instead of bringing in new talent. I think guys like Magnus, Chris Sabin, & Christian York would be great for the new Main Event Mafia. I’m curious to see where TNA is going to go with this angle.
The Greatest Man To Ever Live Is Bound For Glory!
Holy Shit!! I thought Eric Young was hiding in the Phantom Zone or something. Seriously I was surprised to see Young back but I guess since his new TV series is now airing on Animal Planet, TNA wants to plug Young’s show. Once I heard that Austin Aries was going to be Young’s opponent, I knew that Aries was going to win. I was amazed that during the match, fans were chanting Aries name. I think match was good but the ending was awesome with Aries this sick running drop kick on Young in the ring corner followed by the Brain Buster for the win. Aries is definitely one of my top picks to win the Bound for Glory Series and I can’t wait to see matches like Aries vs. Magnus, Aries vs. Samoa Joe or Aries vs. Christopher Daniels.
Yeah Hogan, I’m Getting My Title Shot Because I’m In The Bound For Glory Series!
Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles was AWESOME!!!! These guys were countering each other’s move left and right. Styles hit this great drop kick out of nowhere on Angle followed by a wicked backbreaker. Angle had some great moves during the match including hitting trifecta of German suplexes on Styles but Styles blocks Angle’s attempt at the Angle Slam by reversing it into a sick DDT. One point during the match, Angle pulls the straps down and applies the Ankle Lock. AJ gets out and into a calf killer but Angle reverses back to the Ankle Lock. AJ kicks him off and hits a spin kick to lay Angle out. I didn’t like the run in by “Aces & Eights” but I can live with because they went after both Angle and Styles with Styles rolling Angle up for the win. Great match, I highly recommend you watch this match.
Show Rating: 7 ¼
Well, this week’s Impact Wrestling was better than last week especially with the Angle vs. Styles which again was awesome. The Bound for Glory Series is now set and the lineup for the Series is great with half of the lineup are former TNA World Heavyweight Champions plus the two previous Bound for Glory Series winners; Jeff Hardy and Bobby Roode. I personally think that with the exception of Joseph Park, this is the best lineup so far for the Bound for Glory Series. I’m interesting to see where Sting’s reformation of the Main Event Mafia and who is going to be a part of it. I am loving Mickie James “Heel” turn because you’ve got to love “Crazy Chicks.” That modified STF that Mickie had on Velvet looked like it really hurt and the fact that Mickie was wearing a dress and heels while putting that move Velvet was even more impressive. I can’t wait to see Mickie James vs. Velvet Sky 2 but this time with Mickie as a full blown “Heel.” Now with the Bound for Glory Series officially starting, the next few months of Impact Wrestling should is great. Starting next week, I’ll be listing the scores for everyone in the Bound for Glory Series as they stand after that week’s Impact Wrestling.
Star of the Night: Kurt Angle & AJ Styles
