It’s Your Main Event
With Andrew B.
Welcome to another week of looking at Main Event & I’m Andrew B here to review it for you. This week the show is from Long Island, NY (my hometown.) Sheamus will be in the feature contest against Antonio Cesaro. Also in his first TV match since August Curt Hawkins will battle Justin Gabriel. Plus Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow will team up to go against Jimmy & Jey Uso. Well let’s get started on this packed edition of Main Event.
We get the opening & pyro and then see Josh Matthews; Ricardo Rodriguez & Miz will be calling the action tonight.
Match 1: Antonio Cesaro vs. Sheamus:
This was another good match that Sheamus had. It was a good 12 minute match with nice spots and tons of closes near falls. It was not as good as Sheamus vs. Barrett but it was still good. I wish it went longer though. It was a brawl as Sheamus through Cesaro into the barricade early on. When Sheamus jumped off the top rope & Cesaro hit the uppercut it was very awesome to see. In the end Sheamus won with a Brogue Kick.
Winner: Sheamus
Match Rating: *** ¼ out of 5
We get a RAW Rebound of everything that happened Monday with HHH & his family.
We find out Miz TV will have Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan & Kane on this week’s SmackDown.
Match 2: The Usos vs. Team Rhodes Scholars:
A very good 10 minute tag match that showed tag team wrestling can still be good in WWE. The Usos are the most underrated team in WWE in the last 2 years. It was a back & forth fast moving match that saw Jey hit a top rope splash of Jimmy shoulders for the win.
Winners: The Usos
Match Rating: ** ½ out of 5
Another Raw Rebound but this time focusing on John Cena & Ryback.
Match 3: Justin Gabriel vs. Curt Hawkins:
Hawkins is back & wrestling 30 minutes from his home on this week’s show. He now has short hair. Hawkins was in control but Gabriel came back & won with the 450 Splash in about 4 minutes.
Winner: Justin Gabriel
Match Rating: * ½ out of 5
Overall:
Main Event was solid again this week. The opener was the MOTN with the other 2 matches good. Sheamus vs. Cesaro was good & worth watching. The Tag match was better & longer then I thought it would be and should also be watched. Gabriel vs. Hawkins is a short match but is good for what it was.
Sorry for being late this week guys but work is tough. I hope you enjoyed this & I’ll be back soon.
