Making An Impact
With Billy James
Welcome to “Making An Impact” review for TNA Impact Wrestling. I’m Simply Sensational Billy James with the fallout from Impact Wrestling. It’s Final Impact Wrestling leading into Slammiversary this Sunday. Last week, AJ Styles shocked fans when Styles nailed members of “Aces & Eights” after receiving his “Cut.” How will “Aces & Eights” have in store for Styles as Styles faces Mr. Anderson tonight? Last week, “The Cowboy” James Storm revealed that his tag team partner for the Four Way Eliminate match at Slammiversary as Gunner. Will Storm and Gunner be able to work together as they team with Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez taking on Bad Influence and Dirty Heels in an 8 Man tag team tag team match? Also tonight Sting teams with Joseph Park to take on TNA World Heavyweight Champion; Bully Ray and TNA TV Champion; Devon of “Aces & Eights.” Dixie Carter will announce tonight the location for Bound for Glory. Mickie James celebrates her Knockouts title win from last week. Will former Champion; Velvet Sky confront Mickie on the way Mickie won the title? Also tonight in a mix tag team match; Chris Sabin and Taryn Terrell takes on TNA X Division Champion; Kenny King and Gail Kim. So let’s get started by asking yourself this one question? “Are you ready to feel the Impact?”
Sting & Joseph Park defeat Bully Ray & Devon of “Aces & Eights”
Samoa Joe beats Garrett Bischoff of “Aces & Eights” by disqualification
Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez, “The Cowboy” James Storm & Gunner defeat Bad Influence (Christopher Daniels & Kazarian) & Ditty Heels (Bobby Roode & Austin Aries)
Chris Sabin & Taryn Terrell beat Kenny King & Gail Kim
AJ Styles defeats Mr. Anderson of “Aces & Eights” by disqualification
I’m Tired of Jobbing To You ASSHOLES!!!
Is it just me or is everybody already tired of this “Aces & Eights” inference Bullshit? It’s bad enough that TNA had Samoa Joe wrestling Garrett Bischoff who has shown time and time again that he’s not ready to be a big time roster like the TNA roster but finish to the match was the run in by “Aces & Eights.” I understand that it was more about setting up the stage for the six man tag team match at Slammiversary but did Bischoff really have to be Joe’s opponent? Why TNA couldn’t just use someone like Doc to take on Joe? I can understand how an average wrestling fan who doesn’t watch Impact Wrestling would change the channel with a match like this which is a shame as Joe is one hell of a wrestler.
What Do You Mean Suck?!?! Oh Wait, I Do Suck!!!
For the love of God TNA, why can’t you just get rid of Brooke Hogan? I swear I have seen Porn Stars with better acting skills then Brooke Hogan. What pisses me off more than anything else is Hulk Hogan saying that Brooke Hogan has helped the Knockouts is an insult to every current and past TNA Knockout. I wrote a PIPR BOMB! on this subject while back and you can read my thoughts further at the following link; https://mayernation.wordpress.com/2012/05/30/pipe-bomb-brooke-hogan-running-tna-knockouts-division-bullshit/
The Sting and Joseph Park vs. Bully Ray and Devon wasn’t bad as I thought it would be. The action for the most part was good with all four having some good spots during the match. Sting wasn’t bad in the match hitting the Scorpion Death Drop on Devon to get the win for his team but from a technical standpoint it wasn’t a 5 star match. However the match did a great job storyline wise getting the fans pumped for Slammiversary.
These Guns Are Fully Loaded!!!!
Tonight we got to see what Gunner is going to bring to the 4 Way Elimination Tag Team match at Slammiversary and boy Gunner didn’t disappoint. That Torture Rack Back Breaker Gunner had on Aries to get the win for his team was impressive. Everyone was impressive in the match with the exception of Storm who was never tag into the match. I think that Storm didn’t wrestle in the match was so that he reinjured himself. I loved the missile drop kick that Aries hit on Hernandez during the match. One thing during the match that I found interesting was how Roode and Aries weren’t on the same page which makes me think that Roode and Aries are going to split as a team. I have to say that this was the best match of the night by far.
I Want A Bad Girl!!!!
Mickie James came out to the ring to celebrate her third TNA Knockouts title from last week as Mickie pinned Velvet Sky to win the title. Mickie started to show more of a “Heel” like attitude as Mickie talked about some fans questioning how she won the title. Mickie showed ever more of a “Heel” attitude as Mickie gave excuses as to why she couldn’t give Velvet Sky her rematch as Slammiversary. I thought it was interesting that Gail Kim was put into the mix as she came down to the ring claiming that she should get the next title shot. I thought it was interesting that while Gail was beating the shit out of Velvet, Mickie never once tried to help Velvet. I can’t wait to see where Mickie’s “Heel” turn is going.
Wow! Blondes Can Fly!!!
Every time I see Taryn Terrell in the ring more I’m impress with Taryn. Taryn hits a damn good swinging neck breaker like she’s been doing it for years. I think TNA made the right move having Taryn to feud with Gail as Taryn has had some very good matches with Gail. Sabin and King were on fire as always with some great spots through out the match. Sabin got the win for his team with that looked like Cradle Shock on King after Taryn took out Gail with a spear. After the King attacked Sabin until Suicide came out and chased King out of the ring. I loved the stare down between Sabin and Suicide at the end but I believe that if a title change is going to happen at Slammiversary, it’ll be Sabin walking out with the title.
What Part of I Work Alone Do You Not Understand!?!?
Styles vs. Anderson was interesting as the match went back and forth with each man having a good spots including Anderson hitting a DDT on the apron on Styles and Styles hitting a sliding drop kick on Anderson to the ring floor. To me the match was more about the emotion behind Styles action then the moves since the match was not long. I think the ending was interesting to a certain point as Kurt Angle interfered in the match with a brawl breaking out with “Aces & Eights”, Magnus, Samoa Joe, Joseph Park and Sting getting involved. I thought that it was interesting that TNA ended the show with Bully Ray and “Aces & Eights” standing over Sting in the ring.
Show Rating: 6 ¾
Well, this week’s was good but not as good as last week’s show. For the most part, this week’s show was about hyping the matches and feuds at Slammiversary this Sunday which TNA did a great job at. The Hulk Hogan\Brooke Hogan sucked and I really can’t say more then that. I think Gunner is going to have a breakout performance at Slammiversary and hopefully continue to a big push after Slammiversary. I like that TNA is giving Mickie James a big push with the TNA Knockouts title considering that Mickie is also promoting her new album. I hope that TNA follows through with Mickie’s “Heel” turn and doesn’t drop the ball. Om a side note, during the 8 man tag team match as Roode and Aries came to the ring, Aries walked around the ring and waited until Christy Hemme left the ring. Anyway Slammiversary should be a great PPV and can’t wait to what the fallout from Slammiversary is going to be.
Star of the Night: Gunner
