With Riley Ross
Welcome back to Riley’s Corner!!! Tonight is the last WWE show before the Royal Rumble PPV on Sunday. Tonight they’re live from Sacramento, California. For commentary we have JBL and Josh Matthews. I don’t know about you all but I’m actually looking forward to the Royal Rumble.
Team Hell No comes out to the ring and we are treated to a recap of their graduation from anger management therapy. They are making promises that they will retain their tag team titles on Sunday. They have a match against Team Rhodes Scholars. Kane also says that he will go on to win the Royal Rumble. Of course Kane and Daniel Bryan debate about who will win. They are interrupted by the Big Show. Can someone please take the Big Show’s microphone away from him? It’s getting boring hearing the same whiney shit out of his mouth week after week. After DB starts bellowing no, here come Team Rhodes Scholars to argue. After they challenge Team Hell No to a match, here comes ADR to do whatever the hell it is he is going to do. As all six men verbally spar, here comes the SmackDown GM to stop the chaos. He makes the main event match Team Rhodes Scholars/Big Show is to take on Team Hell No/ADR. The stipulation is that it is a 6 Man Tag Team elimination match.
Sheamus vs. Wade Barrett—Shit that kick Barrett delivered to the Celtic Warrior sounded vicious. They take the fight outside while the referee scolds them to bring it back inside. Barrett delivers another kick to the face of his opponent. Back from commercial and Sheamus is trying to make his way into the ring. Barrett goes for the pin after kicking Sheamus in the head again but the Irish Man kicks out again. Sheamus went for the Cloverleaf but Barrett countered. Sheamus hits White Noise and gears up for the Brogue Kick. It connects and Sheamus gets the win.
Natalya vs. Rosa Mendes—Natalya is accompanied to the ring by Great Khali and Hornswoggle. Rosa is accompanied by Primo and Epico. Their respective teams join in on the commentary. Natalya is super talented and doesn’t deserve this treatment from the WWE. She has talent unlike some of the other divas that are employed. Hey Rosa, the only diva who can let out primal roars is Melina and you my dear are no Melina. Natalya wins after locking in the Sharpshooter.
CM Punk is coming out to call out the Shield for their actions. I like you Punk but your promos are starting to sound the same. He goes on to say that the Shield has been acting on their own. He goes on to bitch about the stipulation on his match against the Rock. If the Shield interrupts in the match, Punk will be stripped of the championship. He grabs a chair and goes back into the ring and calls out the Shield. Their music hits and they come down from the crowd. Punk goes on to say that he never asked them to attack anyone or for their help. He tells them to stay out of his way. Punk also goes on to say that he will beat the Rock on Sunday. Satellite is going in and out all I know is the Shield walked away. The Rock’s music hits and he comes charging at CM Punk. Stupid ass weather causing my satellite to fail when I’m trying to watch wrestling. I missed a lot of what was said.
Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre—Jinder Mahal and Heath Slater accompany their fellow cohort to the ring. Drew starts it off with a kick to Orton’s midsection. Orton quickly gains momentum and shows off his aggressive side. He goes for a DDT but Jinder Mahal interferes. Orton makes light work of the three men and delivers RKOs to them all. Orton wins via DQ.
Miz vs. Darren Young—Antonio Cesaro is on commentary. Young starts off the match dominating the Miz while his tag partner, Titus O’Neil looks on. Miz comes back and shows off his aggressive side. Miz locks in the Figure 4 Leg lock and gets the win. Cesaro waves the flag while standing on the announcers table.
ADR/Team Hell No vs. Team Rhodes Scholars/Big Show—ADR and Cody Rhodes start things off. Del Rio showed off an aggressive side to Rhodes. Rhodes tags in his partner Sandow while DB comes in. DB delivered a flurry of kicks to Sandow before tagging in Kane. Sandow has been eliminated from the six man tag team match. Big Show comes in and gets manhandled from Kane. Kane gets eliminated by the Big Show. Back from commercial and it’s Cody Rhodes/Big Show to take on Daniel Bryan/Del Rio. I still want to forcibly shave both Cody Rhodes and Daniel Bryan. Daniel Bryan gets eliminated via countout. Del Rio shows off his newly acquired aggressive side and attacks the Big Show. He gets knocked out of the ring and gets into the ring barely. Show goes after Del Rio when he gets out of the ring. As Show tries to get into the ring, Del Rio delivers kicks to his knees. Big Show has been eliminated which now brings it to a one on one match. Del Rio gets the two count before Cody kicks out. Del Rio wins. Big Show or Big Pouty as I call him decides that he isn’t done with Del Rio and spears him. He drags him outside the ring and delivers a KO punch to him. He pushes the announcer booth onto him and begins to count to ten.
In closing the show was alright. Nothing really stood out as the matches seemed short and thrown together at the last minute. However lackluster the show was I’m still getting the Royal Rumble. Please don’t let us down WWE. I give the show a B- as it seemed to be full of filler. None of the matches stood out for me same goes for the promos.
