With Riley Ross
Welcome back to Riley’s Corner where I give my brutally honest opinions on each segment of Raw. Tonight’s episode will hopefully discuss what happened at Survivor’s Series and why it happened. I am still in shock over the PPV. We are live from the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio with Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole on commentary.
RAW opens up with a pissed off Ryback making his way to the ring. He calls out CM Punk and he is threatening to tear the place apart unless he comes out. Vickie G. comes out and tells him he will not destroy anything, she threatens him with suspension and a fine. She then tells him he has a match with Tensai.
Tensai vs. Ryback—To be brutally honest, I wouldn’t want to be an opponent of Ryback. He seems to be angry and I honestly don’t blame him. At first Ryback seems to be in control but Albert, I mean Tensai turns it around. Out of nowhere Ryback slams Tensai down to the ring multiple times. The clothesline leads into Shellshocked and Ryback gets the victore clothesline leads into Shellshocked and Ryback gets the victory.
Sheamus is shown backstage yelling at a referee. He is going to call out Big Show tonight. Why? The feud is lackluster as hell. I would rather read the telephone book then to see another matchup between these two.
Wade Barrett vs. Kofi Kingston—Kingston, pardon my bad language is getting his ass handed to him by Barrett. Barrett is going after Kofi’s head. Kofi is showing off an aggressive side which in my opinion he needs to show off more. There seems to be lots of back and forth action along with near pinfalls. Kofi delivers a sweet crossbody off of the top rope. Barrett delivers a Bull Hammer elbow to Kofi and scores the win.
Paul Heyman is showing off backstage as he prepares for the CM Punk celebration later. Congratulations to CM Punk for having the title for 365 days. Matt Striker is trying to interview Punk about the match last night. Striker as usual gets verbally abused by Punk and Heyman.
Aksana vs. Kaitlyn—Aksana is starting off the match by being dominant. Kaitlyn quickly turns it around. The knee to the gut maneuver looked sloppy as hell. Kaitlyn scores a win. I am sorry but this match was a waste of time. Give us a real divas match such as Natalya against Tamina.
Brodus Clay vs. Antonio Cesaro—R-Truth is on commentary. Cesaro hits the Neutralizer for a win. The only thing decent about this match was Cameron and Naomi. I also want to include the flying uppercut that Cesaro delivered to Clay.
Vickie Guerrero comes out to the ring with two people. She is verbally berating AJ again. The people with her are eyewitnesses to the affair between AJ and John Cena. Miss Smith is a waitress from Sacramento who was there for the ‘date’ between John and AJ. Mr. Brady is a parking attendant who witnessed John and AJ sitting in a car for over an hour. Here comes AJ to defend her honor. Vickie says that she has more evidence of AJ and John in the car. Cena’s music hits and he tells Vickie he will give her something to talk about as he lays a liplock on AJ. AJ turns him around and kisses him. Dolph Ziggler rushes out to attack Cena.
Orton is shown walking to the ring. He has a 2 out of 3 falls count anywhere match with Alberto Del Rio up next.
ADR vs. Randy Orton—This is a 2 out of threes falls match. I am sorry but everytime Del Rio says that he is the true Apex Predator I have to giggle. The crowd wants Orton to deliver an RKO to ADR. ADR is working on Orton’s left arm. Orton gets the first win due to Del Rio being disqualified. We are back from commercial and Orton has gained the upper hand. Del Rio has the cross arm breaker locked in and Orton tapped. So now each man has a win. Ricardo gets ejected from ringside as Orton stares at him, he gets nailed with the backstabber by ADR. Del Rio goes for the win but Orton kicks out. Keep mocking his moves ADR and you will piss him off. Del Rio counters the RKO and locks in the Cross Arm Breaker. Orton gets the second win. Suck on that Del Rio, you are nothing more than a harmless little earthworm.
Great Khali vs. Primo and Epico—Two on one handicap match. Here comes Hornswoggle with a bouquet of flowers. He waves to Rosa who is ringside to cheer on Primo and Epico. He makes a smoochy face at her and as she leans down to kiss him, he squirts her in the face with water. The Great Khali gets the win.
Heyman is berating the help backstage. Miz is shown walking towards the ring.
David Otunga vs. The Miz—Can someone please explain to me why Otunga still has a job. Otunga goes for a quick pin but the Miz kicks out at 2. C’mon Otunga is green in the ring and is capable of hurting someone with his lack of safety. Miz gets a near fall with a Sunset Flip. Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale for the win. Yes!!!! That was awesome as hell.
Sheamus is in in the ring to kick off the third hour of RAW. He calls out the Big Show and muc
h to my surprise Big Show comes out. Sheamus is taunting Show with a chair in his hand. Before the heated exchange could get physical, here comes the Intellectual Savior, Damien Sandow.
Damien Sandow vs. Sheamus—Sheamus is taking his anger out on Sandow. If I were Sandow, I would be running out of the arena. Before the break Sheamus was in charge of his opponent, however back from commercial and Sandow is in charge. He delivered a vicious neckbreaker to Sheamus outside the ring. The Irishman gains the momentum in his favor after delivering a battering ram to Sandow. He delivers the White Noise followed by the Brogue Kick for a win.
Vickie is shown backstage with Tamina as AJ interrupts them. Vickie introduces them and AJ threatens Tamina. AJ then threatens to avenge John because he got hurt. No one told him to run off like a jackass. That’s on him for hurting his knee or ankle. Hopefully he will be out for six months and by that I mean sitting on his ass at home and not mugging for the WWE cameras. AJ is shown looking for someone as Layla tries to prevent her from making a mistake. She barges into the locker and gets verbally berated by Dolph Ziggler. He calls her trash and she snaps on him. Cena comes to her rescue and a brawl breaks out as they knock over a bathroom stall. Ziggler delivers a brutal kick to Cenas injured knee.
Sin Cara/Rey Mysterio vs. Daniel Bryan/Kane—The Prime Time Players are on commentary. We learn from Cole that if Sin Cara and Mysterio win they will get a title shot against the current tag team champions. This does not sit well with Darren Young and Titus O’Neil as they protest this news. There is lots of back and forth action in the ring. Daniel Bryan is taking it to Sin Cara before he tags Kane in. Darren Young and Titus O’Neil attack Kane but Sin Cara and Daniel Bryan set them up for the 619. Kane and DB get the victory via disqualification. It was nice to see all four men work together to take out Darren Young and Titus O’Neil.
Paul Heyman is in the ring to begin the CM Punk Celebration. He tells the crowd not to boo him. He calls the crowd out on their hypocritical ways. They bitch and moan about wanting the attitude era back but when they give us a taste of it we complain and cry. We should all know by now that the Attitude Era is over and done with. No amount of whining or crying is going to bring it back. Punk lists the great wrestlers who never kept the title for a year. I am sensing there is going to be a feud between Punk and The Rock soon. They battle it out on Twitter and would love to see them fight it out. Here comes Ryback and he is ambushed by Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. Ryback must have been expecting it as he fights back. They put him through the announcers table. Punk watches them as he kneels over Ryback. The show closes with Punk standing over him with title in the air as he screams ‘Best in the World’.
Tonight’s edition of RAW produced more questions than answers. Oh wait I forgot that I shouldn’t be looking at the WWE to answer questions as they only cause us to have more unanswered questions. However it was nice to see Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins appear on RAW. Tonight’s show has earned an A+. Good job WWE for putting on a decent Raw tonight. Have a good night and a better tomorrow.
