With Riley Ross
Tonight’s RAW is live (pre-taped) from Birmingham, England. On tonight’s commentary is the legendary Jim ‘JR’ Ross and he is starting to grow on me Michael Cole. I seriously have to give him mad respect for the way he has been handling himself lately. Jerry Lawler is being announced as returning to the commentator’s booth next week.
RAW is off to a fantastic start with recaps of HIAC and Raw last week. YES WWE we fucking get the point now you love to show recaps.
Miz is shown backstage with Paul Heyman. Miz is questioning why the reigning WWE champ CM Punk abandoned his teammates last week when Team Foley beat the shit out of them. Miz tells Heyman that he quits. He is no longer part of Team Punk.
Rey Mysterio/Sin Cara/R-Truth vs. Antonio Cesaro/Prime Time Players—Team Mysterio keeps the action fast paced and their opponents cannot slow them down. This match seemed lackluster and boring. Team Mysterio gets the win.
Vickie Guerrero is in the ring talking about the incriminating evidence of an alleged affair between John Cena and AJ Lee. Does anyone at this point give a flying fuck? Even soap operas have a tendency of ending a boring ass storyline sooner rather than later. All you have is videos Vickie, and all it is based on is perception. Blah, blah, blah, here comes Superman Cena to defend himself and AJ. He uses Vickie’s past of using power to help out her ‘business partners’ such as Edge and Dolph Ziggler. Vickie tries to call out AJ but AJ wisely stays away from the ring. She said that if she was near Vickie that she would deliver a beatdown to the managing supervisor of Raw. Ziggler comes over to AJ and taunts her. There goes Cena to defend. The bright spot of this was Cena acknowledges that he only knows four to five moves. My advice to you Mr. Cena is to try and learn more.
Heyman is shown backstage talking to Wade Barrett. Heyman starts off by saying that the Miz is cowardly and that Team Punk needs Barrett. At first Barrett says no but changes his mind on the condition that Paul Heyman owes him one.
Daniel Bryan vs. Cody Rhodes—Decent match could have been better if it could have gone on longer. Even though it wasn’t a tag match there was team work from both all involved. Rhodes gets the win after hitting the Cross Rhodes on Bryan. After the match Cody volunteers his tag partner in a match against Kane.
Kane vs. Damien Sandow—Not going to lie but Kane made Sandow his bitch during this match. Rhodes and Bryan were ejected from the match as they tried to interfere. Kane delivers a brutal chokeslam to the Intellectual Savior Sandow.
Michael Cole is in the ring to interview Brad Maddox about his actions at HIAC. Dude reminds me of Garrett Bischoff and I don’t mean that as a compliment. He has been suspended indefinitely by the Board of Directors after an inquiry about his actions. He said he isn’t working with Paul Heyman or CM Punk. Said it was his own plan; goes on about his own dreams of being a WWE Superstar. Blah, Blah, blah, hire a life/acting coach and a therapist. I love this crowd for chanting ‘you can’t wrestle’. Stateside crowds take notes from these guys.He claims he is famous now and he wants a contract and a match with Ryback. Here comes Vince McMahon hopefully he will knock the shit out of this idiot. Vince is going to give him a million dollar contract next week on RAW if he beats Ryback. Vince brings out Vickie Guerrero and asks her permission to give Maddox a shot at a contract. CM Punk will have to face Ryback and John Cena in a triple threat match for the title at Survivor Series.
Sheamus vs. Miz—I would apologize for overhyping the Miz but I am not going to. I am a huge Mizfit and I admit it proudly. As the Miz makes his way to the ring, the Big Show’s music hits and out comes the WHC to do commentary. There is lots of action between the two superstars Miz takes advantage as Sheamus stares at the Big Show. Sheamus, I like you but dammit you never take your eyes off of your opponent. It never works out in your favor. Back from commercial and the Miz is in charge of Sheamus. Damn I love an aggressive Miz. Sheamus delivers the White Noise and then the Brogue Kick to the Miz for the win.
Dolph Ziggler is shown pacing outside Mr. McMahon’s office and out comes a smiling Vickie G. He is named as CM Punk’s replacement since he will have his own match. Cena and Ryback will team together to take on CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler. Back from commercial and we see Sheamus and William Regal chatting. So nice to see William Regal; he should really be the GM of RAW.
Eve/Aksana vs. Layla/Kaitlyn—Why in the fuck is Aksana still in the WWE? This is what I am talking about where they hire DIVAS based on looks and not talent. Her wrestling talent is lacking credibility. Kaitlyn and Layla get the victory.
Ricardo Rodriguez and Del Rio are bitching about something or other until Rosa bumps into Del Rio. They share a flirty moment. When in the hell did the WWE become a sportier version of 90210? However if this is a soap opera I vote for them riding off into the sunset on a sparkly unicorn
Kofi Kingston vs. Alberto Del Rio—Holy shit I am bored of this match already! If Del Shithead calls himself the Apex Predator of the WWE, I will throw a shoe at his ass at the next WWE event I go to. If I was in charge of the WWE Del Rio would be the first one fired. Del Rio’s move of the night is the Tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Kofi is extremely talented and I am glad to see that he is getting somewhat of a push. Randy Orton’s music hits and distracts Del Rio. This causes Kofi to get the win. Orton comes out of nowhere and hits the RKO. The Apex Predator has made a statement to his opponent tomorrow night.
Santino Marella/Zack Ryder vs. Primo and Epico—Primo and Epico are accompanied by Rosa. I am going to be brutally honest I am tired of Marella and Ryder. I think I dozed off during this match. Santino Marella gets the win in this farce of a match. Primo and Epico deserve better than this shit.
Brodus Clay vs. Wade Barrett—Clay starts off hot but Barrett quickly gains the upperhand. Wade Barrett gets the victory after a short match. He hit the Souvenir elbow for the victory. As much as I like Brodus Clay, I think he needs a character change. Sure he is over with the kids but in my opinion he was better off as a heel.
Heath Slater vs. Jey Uso—Not crazy about Heath Slater and his stable 3MB. Was 3 Count too busy too come to the WWE? As usual Slater gets the victory.
CM Punk/Dolph Ziggler vs. John Cena/Ryback —Finally it is time for the main event. Cena and Punk start off the match. I love JR but please stop kissing Cena’s ass. Sure he works hard outside the ring for the Make A Wish Foundation and The Susan G. Komel foundation but he only knows four to five moves and that is it. He is in every damn main event and is pretty much always in the running for a title. I would rather see Brock Lesnar than Cena in a title run. Are the bookers and creative team aware that there is other talent? Or has RAW changed to the John Cena three hour show? Oh shit finally Cena tagged in Ryback; I was beginning to think that he had forgotten about his tag partner. Ryback is dominating the hell out of Punk. He delivers Shellshocked to Punk for the victory.
In closing the show was decent and I give it an A. I am really sick of the Vickie/Cena/AJ storyline. I am just sick of Cena in general. He isn’t the only wrestler on the roster and maybe it’s time for the WWE to realize that. I am looking forward to watching Survivor Series. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @dibiaseangel, feel free to comment and share your opinions on what the WWE could do to make things better. Have a good night and a better tomorrow.
