With Riley Ross
Welcome back to Riley’s Corner where I review RAW and give my unfiltered opinions on each match and segment. Tonight we are live from Nashville, TN. On commentary it’s Michael Cole and Jim ‘JR’ Ross. A friendly reminder HIAC is two weeks away. Tonight we should find out who CM Punk is going to face at HIAC. Will it be Ryback or will it be ‘Superman’ John Cena? Personally I am hoping it will be Ryback.
Big Show ambles down to the ring to open the show. The crowd is relentless in booing him. He is whining about the debate that he had with Sheamus two weeks ago. He is saying that at HIAC he will knock out Sheamus and become the World Heavyweight Champion. He is now challenging Daniel Bryan a match to expunge the embarrassing history of only having the WHC for forty-five seconds. DB is shown backstage shown with others shaking his head no. Madame GM told him to get out there and fight. That segment with Kane and the others was funny.
Daniel Bryan vs. Big Show—Show starts off with hard clobbering hits to DB as DB delivers kicks to Show’s knees. As we come back from commercial we learn that during the break Show has targeted the ribs of Daniel Bryan. Bryan has knocked Big Show down and is fighting like hell to get the victory. Show chokeslams Bryan and gets the victory. Kane’s music hits and comes down to the ring, laughing at his tag team partner. Show challenges Kane as he steps in between Daniel Bryan and Show. Show walks off as Kane checks on his partner.
Paul Heyman is in the ring and introducing CM Punk to the ring. There is a mysteriously covered easel in the ring as Punk comes to the ring. Punk declares that he is Best In The World and will put anyone in their place. I do like the HIAC poster with Punk dressed as a devil. After much yakking, Punk decides to wait to reveal his opponent. Vince McMahon’s music hits and the crowd goes nuts. As JR would say business has picked up. His says Punk has lost the right to pick his opponent and Vince will decide later tonight at a contract signing.
Del Rio vs. Brodus Clay—It has been announced that a one on one between ADR and Randy Orton has been made for HIAC. Match is quick and ADR hits the cross arm breaker and forces Clay to tap out. To be honest I didn’t pay that much attention to the match.
CM Punk was bitching that McMahon took away his right to choose and tells Heyman that he wants to fight McMahon tonight.
Santino Marella and Zack Ryder vs. Prime Time Players—Titus O’Neil completely dominates Zack Ryder as he picks up the win. I actually prefer the PTP over Zack Ryder and Santino Marella. Heath Slater, Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal run down to the ring to attack Zack Ryder and Santino.
Vickie Guerrero comes out and shrieks excuse me and announces that Dolph Ziggler has an announcement to make. Apparently he isn’t happy that Ryback might have a shot at fighting CM Punk. Otunga comes out and says that he deserves a shot. Here comes AJ skipping like an idiot. I hope she trips. She makes a match a two on one handicap match. Ziggler and Otunga must face Ryback.
Ryback vs. Otunga/Ziggler—Ziggler is going up first to take on Ryback. He gets in a dropkick but failed to take the monstrous Ryback off of his feet. Otunga fails to do the same. Ziggler and Vickie run leaving Otunga behind to get brutally taken down. Ryback gets the victory.
Can someone please remove AJ from the position of GM? I seriously want to smack the shit out of her every time I see her acting crazy and or skipping. She has made a match between Matt Stryker and Kane for later tonight.
Antonio Cesaro vs. Justin Gabriel—Gabriel is getting a mud hole stomped in him earlier on in the match. Cesaro dominated him throughout the whole match although Gabriel did get some offense in but in the end it didn’t matter. Cesaro hits his move the Neutralizer and wins.
Matt Striker vs. Kane—Striker is only having this match because he used the words crazy and nuts while talking to AJ Lee. Kane asks for a hug and gets one which is going to lead into pain for Striker. Kane gets the victory with a chokeslam.
Miz TV is back with Kofi Kingston as a special guest. Nice verbal sparring between the two. Damn Miz looks good. A match is made between Kofi and Miz for later tonight. Thank you wrestling gods.
Sheamus vs. Wade Barrett—This is a rematch from last week. There is lots of back and forth action between both Superstars. Here comes Big Show with a chair as we go to commercial. Back from commercial and Show is sitting at the top of the ramp watching the match. This match is brutal to watch as both men give it everything they have. Sheamus has the Cloverleaf locked in as Show comes down to the ring. Show pulled down the rope as Barrett flung Sheamus over the ropes. Sheamus hits Barrett with the Brogue Kick and wins via DQ.
Eve vs. Layla (Divas Championship)—Layla gets her rematch. Layla is starting out vicious but Eve quickly gets the upperhand. The crowd is chanting Hoeski to Eve. Eve is a wonderful heel as she uses the ropes to dominate Layla. Layla’s foot made it to the ropes but Eve kicked her foot off of the rope.
Daniel Bryan and Kane segment backstage. DB challenged Kane to face Big Show next week to see how funny it is when he gets chokeslammed.
Ryback told Vince McMahon to feed him Punk. We are forced to see 3MB sing in a bar. Dear wrestling gods please no.
Team Rhodes Scholars vs. Primo and Epico—This was supposed to be the final match with Team Rhodes Scholars facing Sin Cara/Rey Mysterio; due to Mysterio being sick that match will take place next week. Rhodes Scholars dominated their opponents until Epico turned it around. However Sandow got the victory.
Kofi Kingston vs. Miz—Kofi is beating the shit out of the Miz. I like the new aggressive side of Kofi but not when its directed at the Miz. Yes the Miz turns it around while the crowd stands behind Kofi. Kingston hits Trouble in Paradise and gets the win.
Contract signing time, I honestly think this is going to go the way of typical contract signings with mayhem and violence. CM Punk is being accompanied to the ring by Paul Heyman. Ryback and Cena come out to the ring. Why does Cena have to be in every fucking main event? After much name calling from Punk, Cena screams at him to shut the hell up. What in the blue hell Cena isn’t in a main event? It’s going to be Ryback vs. CM Punk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ryback slams Punk’s head into the table! YES! YES! YES!
In closing, I give tonight’s show an A+. Cena isn’t going to main event and that makes me fucking ecstatic. Yes I know he has done a lot for the WWE but other people deserve a shot as well. Tonight’s show kept me on the edge of my seat and ready to watch HIAC. Have a good night and a better tomorrow.
