Making An Impact: TNA Impact Wrestling Review for 06-07-12

Making An Impact

With Billy James

Welcome to “Making An Impact” review for TNA Impact Wrestling. I’m Simply Sensational Billy James with the fallout from this week’s Impact Wrestling. Last week, Daniels and Kaz played an audio recording of a conversation between AJ Styles and Dixie Carter which caused Dixie to cuss and scream. Will Dixie come clean and explain what is going on? Tonight is the contract signing between Bully Ray and Joseph Park for their match at Slammivesary. Also tonight the Knockouts are in action in aFour Way match to determine the Number #1 contender for the Knockouts title. So let’s get started by asking yourself this one question? “Are you ready to feel the Impact?”

Matches

Crimson defeats Austin Aries

Miss Tessmacher defeats Velvet Sky, Tara & Mickie James in a Four Way Number #1 Contender’s match

Devon retains the TV Title defeating Robbie E.

Sting, Kurt Angle & AJ Styles beat Bobby Roode, Christopher Daniels & Kazarian in the main event

No Impact

Crimson vs. Aries was too damn short and the ending sucked. I think that this match could have been better if it went longer because if given the right amount of time Aries could have made Crimson look really good. Also having Samoa Joe interfering in the match didn’t help. I understand that TNA wants to keep Crimson undefeated but I think that they could have done something. The only good thing to come out of this is that we get Samoa Joe vs. Austin Aries at Slammivesary. Still the promo that Joe cut explaining the reason for attacking Aries sucked.

For the love of God, do we really need to see Hulk Hogan several times through out the night? Everything that Hogan had to say could have been done in one segment. While I’m thinking about it, I’m really getting tired of Anderson’s “Asshole” gimmick. I think that TNA can come up with a better gimmick forAnderson. The bottom line is that we saw way too much of Hogan and it sucked.

Man, Joseph Park AKA Abyss is one bad actor. I have no interest in the match at Slammivesary and this contract signing segment did nothing for me either. I hate that Bully Ray is suck in this feud as Bully Ray has really came into his own as one of the top heels in TNA. If TNA does go with the split personality angle with Abyss and Joseph Park being one of the same will be a sweet payoff. Either way hopefully this will be over at Slammivesary.

Talking about way too much, No more Robbie E vs. Devon TNA. We have this for weeks and we’re ready to move on. While having Devon defending the TV title every week is a good thing, having Robbie E always interfering in these title matches devalues the title. Hopefully we’ll see the last of this feud this Sunday when Devon teams with Garrett Bischoff to face Robbie E and Robbie T.

Why does TNA have their most dominate champion is the past few years jobbing to Sting? I don’t see how Sting benefits from beating Roode since Sting isn’t going to win the TNA World Heavyweight title. I still have my doubts that Sting is going to be able to have a good match with Roode at Slammivesary. I guess it could be worse, it could be a triple threat match for the TNA World Heavyweight title; Sting vs. Hulk Hogan vs. Bobby Roode. If anybody at TNA is reading this, DO NOT book this match. I was being sarcastic.

Again we had to bear the pain that is called Brooke Hogan. Brooke can’t cut a promo what so ever. Hell, Brooke is so bad, she makes Kelly Kelly look like a pro. This segment proves that Brooke Hogan knows nothing about the Wrestling business. The only saving grace to this segment was the Knockouts themselves.

High Impact

Dixie Carter must have read last week’s review that if we didn’t get a Knockouts match this week that I was dropping a PIPE BOMB! On her ass. Well did we ever get a Knockouts match in the Four Way match to determine the Number #1 contender to the Knockouts title. Couple of things that I thought was interesting was first that all of the opponents were faces. Second was the aggression of Mickie James. I just love it when Mickie shouted at Velvet “That’s why I’m the best!!!” when Mickie hit the Thesz Press from the top rope onto Velvet.Taralooked super hot and I love the fact that Tara and Brooke Tessmacher went at it fighting each other. I think that the right woman won and I can’t wait to see Brooke Tessmacher become the new TNA Knockouts Champion at Slammivesary.

I love the way Impact Wrestling open with the package showing Dixie going to the production trunk cussing and raving. While Dixie isn’t a great actor, I thought that she was able to show that she was embarrass for getting caught. Daniels and Kazarian confronting Dixie got me more interested. The icing on the cake was when Serg Salinas; Dixie’s husband punched out AJ. I can’t wait to see what is going to happen with this angle.

Show Rating: 5 out of 10

Final Thoughts

Well, this Impact Wrestling did a good job setting up more matches and high lighting the matches already set up. However the matches with exception the Knockouts were not great which hurt the show. Hulk Hogan in two segments didn’t help matters either. The three things that saved the show were the Knockouts match, the possible heel turn for Mickie James and the Dixie Carter\AJ Styles. In the end, this week’s Impact wrestling was average. Hopefully next week’s show will be better.

Star of the Night: Brooke Tessmacher

  1. Riggs says:

Robbie E Devon ain’t that bad. Robbie chasing the title doesn’t devalue the title in anyway in my eyes if anything it makes the title look good it shows that people want the title.
