Andrew B Making An Impact For 5/10/12

Welcome to another review of TNA Impact. This week Daniels and Kaz will reveal AJ Styles’ secret. Also Crimson will battle his former tag team partner Matt Morgan. Also in a Victory Road rematch Austin Aries will defend the X Division Title against Zema Ion. So let’s start as this Sunday is Sacrifice.

The show starts with a video package & then Bobby Roode comes to the ring. He asks if there is anything else that he has to do to prove that he is the greatest champion in the history of the company and without a shadow of a doubt the most dominant champion in the history of Impact Wrestling. He reminds us that last week not only did he defeat and embarrass Ken Anderson but he took him out. Not only did he take Anderson out he took out Jeff Hardy & Rob Van Dam. He says one man took out 3 former World Champions. Roode says sometimes he amazes himself & that he has great news for everyone & that in 14 days it will become official as he will go down in history because he will become the longest reigning World Heavyweight Champion in the history of this company. He says in three days RVD gets into the ring with the It Factor of Professional Wrestling & the World Champion. He tells RVD if he thinks he is going to outwrestle him and take the World Title from him then he is sorely mistaken. Rob Van Dam runs to the ring and he punches Roode. Roode goes to the outside and he goes up the ramp as RVD picks up the title belt. Roode has his back to the entrance and Ken Anderson attacks Roode from behind & Roode is sent back into the ring and Anderson and RVD attack Roode. Jeff Hardy comes to the ring and joins in & then Hardy even takes a few shots at Anderson as officials & refs come out to try to separate them. Hulk Hogan’s music plays and he says that he smells blood & that he likes it. Hogan says that he likes the enthusiasm and says that Hardy and Anderson want a piece of Roode and each other & that RVD wants a piece of Roode also. Hogan says he has an idea that will shake things up & it will be tonight’s main event but he has to talk to RVD first. He suggests a fatal four way to give each man something to gain and something to lose. If Anderson or Hardy wins they get RVD’s shot at the title against Bobby Roode. If Roode wins he can pick whoever he wants of the three to face at Sacrifice. If RVD wins he gets to pick the stipulation for the World Title Match at Sacrifice. Hogan asks RVD if he wants to accept the stipulation and RVD says yes.

Overall:

Impact was good as there were no Bischoffs and hardly any Hogan like last week. The opening segment was okay but I don’t like that Hardy and Anderson are in the World Title storyline it is not a fatal four way at Sacrifice plus Roode has no problems with RVD which makes this feud dumb. I did not like the segment with Daniels and AJ as this feud is getting dumb and has been going on for almost a year. The Knockout match was good. I don’t know how I feel about the Morgan vs. Crimson thing as I am not sure where it will go to or if Bully Ray will feud with Morgan when he returns. The Joseph Park & Bully Ray promo was decent but you could tell Ray was the better talked in the segment. I liked the RVD video package they showed as it was done well. The X Division Title match was very good. The TV Title match was basic and I can’t wait for Devon to lose it. The James Storm Video Package was very good also and it makes you feel bad for Storm. The main event was good also. The end was good as the return of Abyss was a nice surprise. Impact was very good but they should have hyped up the tag title match for Sacrifice more and let RVD & Roode work by themselves.

Overall Rating for the 5/10/12 Impact: 8 out of 10 (Like Last Week)
